They then began lifting her, in the sling, off of the bed and I had to stop them to ask if her head was supported. My mother was rolled across the hall and placed in another bed. My Moma has high BP that is tightly controlled by meds that have taken a few years to get the dosages and times working. So sick, nearly dropped on her head, and now being told she won't get her meds. I went back to the office, the don said " I stayed late on a holiday just to do this". When the don heard this she came into the room and advised me she was reporting me to adult protective services and that I couldn't leave without filling out an ama for.

In a long-term care setting, the facility's primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Fortunately, this facility provided the vaccine to 100 percent of its residents, which is an above average statistic.

It is worth mentioning that Medicare pays for what they deem as 'medically necessary' skilled nursing care. I stayed at Deer Creek of Wimberley because my mother had gone there when she had fractured her hip, they did rehab on her, and they were really good to her. She had enjoyed her stay there, and they got her up and she was able to go back to her home. The residents enjoyed Bingo, we had yoga and exercise on the wheelchair, and we always had something going on. I was in rehab, so I met with the speech therapist and physical therapist. It’s not perfect, but it was really good and I had a good stay.
Non-care services
Higher levels of autonomy with ADL's generally correlates with superior rehabilitation services. Please, please, do not place your loved one in this horrid place. I read reviews, looked at Medicare ratings, I thought I had done my due diligence. My 79 year old Mother was inpatient for 6 days in a local hospital.
This is the percentage of residents given antipsychotic medications. While antipsychotic medications may be helpful for many patients, it is important to ensure these medications are being used only where medically required. In limited cases, excessive reliance on these medications may suggest that a nursing home is using these drugs to subdue residents. After explaining the dispatch said he would send Deputies. Wimberley EMS comes for eval but other than slightly elevated BP and low O2 level she was not in medical distress so the couldn't transport her. They listened, advised, educated, suggested, and went out of their way to try to help in any way they could. Please just hear that mt Moma was mistreated, almost dropped, ignored, and placed in real danger in this place. I shudder to imagine what happens to those left hear without supervision.

She would not have been able to get to it to eat on her own. At this point I'm furious and go looking for someone to help. Ast don follows me back down the hall but didn't come in to the room to speak with me or the patient.

I can tell you that the tenured staff at nursing facilities are heaven-sent. They face challenges every day but continue to serve a population that is in need. I feel that the leadership team is understanding and can help resolve any concerns as you watch over your loved one. If you had a bad experience in the past, it is still worth your time to talk to someone at Deer Creek to see the recent changes that have been made. Deer Creek was and is one of the most friendly, clean, and safe places to work. These small-town facilities are different and seem to care more about their patients.
