It is worth mentioning that Medicare pays for what they deem as 'medically necessary' skilled nursing care. I stayed at Deer Creek of Wimberley because my mother had gone there when she had fractured her hip, they did rehab on her, and they were really good to her. She had enjoyed her stay there, and they got her up and she was able to go back to her home. The residents enjoyed Bingo, we had yoga and exercise on the wheelchair, and we always had something going on. I was in rehab, so I met with the speech therapist and physical therapist. It’s not perfect, but it was really good and I had a good stay.

She would not have been able to get to it to eat on her own. At this point I'm furious and go looking for someone to help. Ast don follows me back down the hall but didn't come in to the room to speak with me or the patient.
I can tell you that the tenured staff at nursing facilities are heaven-sent. They face challenges every day but continue to serve a population that is in need.
